Aberdeen is the homeport of the tall ship Lady Washington, a reproduction of a smaller vessel used by the explorer Captain Robert Gray, which was featured in the films Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. Aberdeen is also the birthplace of musician Kurt Cobain.
